| It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! |
11/29/2004 4:32PM |
| I'm so excited - I bought
Jose's main Christmas present today, and I got a really good
deal. He's dying to know what it is, but that will remain my
little secret until December 25. Hard to believe that's less
than a month away! Jose's been told he's not getting video games
of any kind this Christmas. If you were considering buying him
one, consider this: he has four brand new games that he hasn't come
close to finishing, and a bunch of other ones that he's had for quite
awhile that he's only partially finished. However...
Speaking of Jose, he's feeling a little stressed right now because
he's been given a rather major project to do, and he has to have it
done by Wednesday! He could use your prayers over the next
couple of days. |

| Snow |
11/22/2004 4:45PM |
| We woke up this morning to
quite a bit of snow flying around. We weren't altogether
impressed, especially since the wind hadn't stopped howling since
early yesterday, making driving rather treacherous. Luckily, it
didn't snow all day, and according to the Weather Network, the wind
has dropped to 11km/hr. It was in the high 60's last night, but
I think the gusts were stronger than that. |

| Half-life2 |
11/17/2004 10:30AM |
| Half-life2 came out yesterday.
I've been playing it all I can since yesterday, there is never enough
time. This game is incredible, as far as I'm concerned it puts DOOM3
to shame with respect to graphics. If any of you are Half-life fans
you owe it to yourself to check this game out. |

| Fun Weekend | 11/15/2004
9:50AM |
| It was really nice to have
an extended weekend. I had to teach Friday morning, but Jose
took the day off, so he could have a four-day weekend. I was
able to leave school in really good time, so it felt like I had a
nice long weekend too. Claire and Miguel came down for a visit,
and were finally able to see our house for the first time. We
went bowling on Saturday, and I actually won the second game!
Not bad for a pregnant lady! We also went bowling on Thursday
with some friends, but I didn't do nearly as well, so I won't talk
about that. All-in-all, a fun, restful weekend, and now I feel
ready for the week ahead (sort of). |

| Baby Pictures |
11/12/2004 12:10AM |
| We've had some inquiries as
to how to find the baby pictures. We'll get them onto the baby
page ASAP (I don't know how Jose wants to do that), but for now, I'll
just point you in the right direction. On this main page, to the
left of this box, there's a box called "Pictures." In that box,
click on "Baby Pictures," and it will take you right there. Happy
viewing! |

of HALO2 at lunch time, I can't wait to go home. Jen might have to
take the bus today. |

| Go 'Canes Go! |
11/07/2004 10:00PM |
| This evening we had an
enjoyable end to a pleasant weekend. We were up in Calgary at a
wedding (the 8th in the last two years including ours!), so we had a
quick trip up to the big city, and tonight we went to see a Lethbridge
Hurricane's hockey game. It was a good game. It went into
overtime, and they still ended up tied. Jose's company had rented
a suite at ice level, and there was free food and beverages. It's
been a long time since I've been to a hockey game, and it was quite fun.
Tomorrow starts a busy week at school, what with report cards, and the
Remembrance Day assembly that I'm running at school. |

| Blown Away! |
11/05/2004 02:00PM |
| Is it ever windy here
today! The wind came up last night, and hasn't quit yet.
There are wind warnings in effect for gusts up to 110 km/hr. It
rattled our whole house all night long, making sleep very
difficult. Jose says he didn't really sleep at all. As if
getting up in the mornings isn't hard enough already! This
morning, I heard fire truck sirens, and horns blaring outside, and
when I glanced out the window, there was an enormous fire blazing not
too far from our house! We weren't sure what it was at the time,
but later I heard that it was a potato factory. While Jose was
watching, he saw something explode. I wouldn't be surprised if
the fire was somehow wind-related. The wind certainly wasn't
helping matters for the firefighters. Apparently they couldn't
even get near it. The wind also knocked out power all over the
place, including at Hi-Way Service. As soon as Jose got in the
door this morning, he was bombarded by people asking him to fix their
computers. He told me that all of his servers went down, which
is a bit of a nightmare, but he got it all up and running, expert that
he is. Now I'm at school, and the whole building is
creaking. It's pretty freaky to think how much power the wind
really has. |

| Procrastination is a Wonderful Thing |
11/04/2004 10:00AM |
| I hate marking, and love
procrastinating. Too bad procrastination doesn't come without
stress later on. I'm having a hard time staying focused and
getting motivated. I just want to stay home and be in my beautiful
new house, watching my tummy grow. And for the record, I mean
because of Baby, NOT the Halloween candy that Jose implies I'm going
to devour. I've been very good in that department, considering
how much of it we have. Too bad I can't say that about my marking.
Report cards go out next week, and I'm a little stressed. However,
everything always gets done in its own good time. I may be at
school until midnight on Sunday, but it will get done. Wish
me luck. |

| It's ALIVE!!! |
11/03/2004 10:15AM |
| I heard my baby's heart beat
today. It was incredible. It is hard to believe I'm going to be a dad
(papá). Next week we have the ultrasound and we'll have pictures
to share. Keep an eye on the site in the afternoon since I'll be posting
pictures of the ultrasound. |

| New Look! |
11/01/2004 3:30PM |

I'm giving the site a little bit of a lift. A little tuck here, a
little tuck there, and a lot of silicone. If you have any comments
give me a shout. |

| Halloween Bummer!!! |
11/01/2004 7:26AM |
|
A bit of a disappointing Halloween, not too many kids showed up yesterday
after buying $30.00 worth of candy. Oh well, Jen is happy she
gets to eat it all. We had some friends over last night &
played some games while we were waiting for the kids. It was
fun for us at least. I wonder if the kids didn't show up because
it was chilly. |
