Videos

Posted by: Jennifer

Sorry to those of you who I told that there would be videos up by now (Mum and Catherine).  I was working on it, but then I noticed the pictures from before weren't as small as they usually are, so Jose had to figure out what went wrong.  They're fixed now, so it's easier to see them.  Anyway, here are the videos I planned to have up yesterday.

James standing by Papá and sticking out his tongue.
Tasmanian Devil imitation (we try not to encourage that anymore - hard on the voice).
James boogying across the living room floor on a quest for the vacuum.

So Many New Developments

Posted by: Jennifer

The last couple of weeks have been just amazing for James.  Last post, he was just learning to eat Cheerios.  He really just played with them, and only ate them if I put them in his mouth.  Now, he gets excited when I pull out the box, and today, he stuffed about three in his mouth at once!  He has no problem getting them in there now.  Same with Arrowroots.  It first took him about 15-20 minutes to eat one, and now he just gobbles them up.  He's eating finely chopped food now not just pureed.

More exciting than his culinary advancements are James's motoring abilities.  In the space of a few days, James has gone from teetering out of a sit position into a flopped-on-the-floor-not-really-going-anywhere position to full out commando-style boogying across the floor!  Since yesterday, he's worked out how to get from hands and knees back into a sit.  He's always loved to stand, but now, he just can't get enough of it.  He can pull himself up to a stand, depending how tall the object he's using to pull himself up is.  I was also experimenting with his balance, and he can sometimes stand alone for about 20 seconds!  Needless to say, we have to watch him like a hawk.  Last night, he really wanted to play with the dog's water bowl, and just because I turned him right around facing away from it, didn't mean he instantly forgot about it.  The second I put him down, he was turning around to head right back to the water!  I've had to rearrange the living room so that my plants will be out of harm's way.

Here are some pictures of the little go-getter:

New host, HUGE post

Posted by: Jennifer

Sorry for the delay with the rest of the pictures.  We just switched hosts for SamayoaWeb and it took a couple of days to get everything transferred.  There are lots of pictures because there's been lots happening.  I'll do a quick summary of events, followed by related pictures and videos, then I'll do the same with the next event.  Capiche?

First!  You can read below about our Halloween party.  Here are the pix:

Next, some pictures around the house.  Several months ago, we were given a bunch of stuff for "Baby" including a little cloth house for "Baby" to play in.  When I blogged about it, I said I'd post some pictures of Baby playing in the house (you can read about it here).  Well, here they are, plus a couple of extras.

On Monday, James and I went to a Halloween party at Griffin's house - one of the babies from our group.  It was a lot of fun.  The babies were well behaved, and incredibly cute.  Griffin's mom, Jen had made goodie bags for us too.  There was a toy and a book for the babies, and candy for the moms.  After the party at Griffin's house, we went to Superstore to have a group photo done.  The babies were so good.  They sat still and didn't yank on each other or cry or anything.  And we had enough time left afterwards to do individuals.  Too cute.  So now we have a really nice picture of James in his Spidey suit.

James has been introduced to finger foods.  On Wednesday, he tried some Cheerios, and yesterday he had an Arrowroot cookie.  He was quite intrigued by the Cheerios, and didn't really realize they were food, so he mostly just poked at them and picked the occasional one up.  The Arrowroot however, was a big hit.  It took him about 15 minutes to eat it, but eat it he did.  And I think he really enjoyed it.

Here are some very cute pictures of a little sleeper we all know and love.  The first picture was taken the other morning.  Earlier (much earlier, as in still dark and indecent earlier), we had heard James talking to himself in his crib.  He stopped shortly after, and so I left him alone, and didn't go in.  Jose went in later when he was getting ready for work and discovered him in that position.  The last picture features James's new neck cushion to help prevent him from slumping over when he falls asleep in the car.

And finally, even though these should be first chronologically, here are a couple of videos from our trip to Calgary.
