September news

September has been quite the wacky month! Of course, I've gone back to school, which has made life a lot more interesting, to say the least. I'm just loving my new school, and my class is great, although, not without its challenges. James has adjusted well to being back at Michelle's house. He had a bit of a rough week my first week back (which was rather odd because the two weeks prior to school, he spent every day at the babysitter's while I was at school getting things ready), but he heads on in without a backward glance these days.
James is cutting another tooth, and is dealing with a bit of a fever (I'm sure they're related, although health professionals say teething has nothing to do with having a fever). This is his seventh tooth that's on its way in. He had a new one just last week as well (and a mild fever to go with it), so he seems to have become very serious about getting this whole business over with. He's quite cute with his little mouthful of pearly whites, and he only uses them as methods of getting his own way once in awhile. I'm taking him to the doctor for his 18 month check-up today. I'm very curious to see how tall he is and how much he weighs because it seems to me that he's grown a lot lately. I just can't believe he's 18 months already (today actually). He's such a little boy now, especially with the new runners he got over the weekend - they're velcro, and when he wears them, he look slike he's about to take off to a track meet or something. James' vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. Today he added "bean" and kept holding one up between bites of his supper to proclaim "bean!" He says it very clearly. Unlike "up" which sounds more like "but", but again, all the letters when he says "but" are very precise.
Jose's eye is doing well. It opens all by itself more and more now, which is a good thing. Jose went up to Calgary on the 5th for a check-up, and had a couple of stitches removed. The doctor said his eye is looking "beautiful" - always a good thing. Work has slowed down a bit for him, which is good because he was getting quite stressed over his workload for awhile there.
I'm really looking forward to going to see Robert Munsch perform today. It's kind of my birthday outing, since Meet the Teacher night and our school's family BBQ fall right smack on my birthday this year. That's OK though - I don't mind celebrating a little early. And my dad is coming down this weekend, so maybe we'll do a little more celebrating then. Tonight should be a nice night. We're going to have supper at the water tower (AKA Ric's Grill), and then go see Robert Munsch whose stories I've loved since I was little.
I think that's about all for now. I hope everyone reading this is happy and healthy.
God bless,
Jennifer
