Reminiscing

Posted on: Friday, December 28th, 2007 in: James, Julia

Wow. As a baby, James could poop like nothing else. I was looking back through the archives of our website (a fun little activity – I especially recommend it if you’re looking to procrastinate), and came across a laugh-out-loud slide show. Go to The Story to revisit the memory. It makes me so incredibly glad [...]

Christmas Marathon

Posted on: Thursday, December 27th, 2007 in: Family

No, Jose and I haven’t taken up running, but we did just finish the 2007 Christmas Marathon. On Friday, we packed up 2 kids, 1 dog, and presents for everyone in our family and headed out for 5 days. We were supposed to leave at about 1:00 on Friday, but didn’t get going until 3:30. [...]

Rolling, Baby Jesus, and Colds

Julia rolled!  She’s been rolling from her tummy to her back since she was about a month old, but this week, she started rolling from back to front.  She’s doing great at it, too.  If her arm is stuck underneath her, she can push up with her legs and one shoulder until the arm is [...]

Enough is Enough!

Julia has had a cold all this week. Before the cold, she was sleeping through the night. This whole week, she’s been up several times, and it’s really wearing on me. Her cold is actually getting better, but her sleeping is not. Last night she woke up at 1:00 to eat, and was truly hungry, [...]

Hoping for a White Christmas

Posted on: Monday, December 10th, 2007 in: Family

Well, it’s looking promising for a white Christmas this year!  However, there are 15 days until Christmas, so anything could happen between now and then.  It could all melt and then we could get even more than we have now!  Who knows.  I’m just enjoying the moment, and at this moment, snow is falling rapidly, [...]

Tribute to Garbhan: 1997-2007

Posted on: Saturday, December 8th, 2007 in: Family

Some sad news from my family in Calgary last night. Our dog, Garbhan who had been sick for quite awhile was put to rest yesterday. He was probably the spunkiest, cockiest, most self-confident dog I’ve ever seen. He didn’t walk, he strutted. He was so sure that everyone loved him that he was never jealous [...]

World of Weird

Posted on: Thursday, December 6th, 2007 in: James

You know things aren’t normal when you bribe your son in the following way: “Eat a bite of your stew James, and then you can have some broccoli!” What do you think of the new site? We’d love your feedback, and now you can make comments right on the website! At the end of each [...]

I Hate Chinooks

Posted on: Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 in: James, Julia, Rant

Maybe it’s just because I grew up in Regina where people aren’t wimps about cold weather, but I can’t stand Chinooks. I honestly would prefer to have snow all winter long to having temperatures that fluctuate wildly wreaking havoc on innocent citizens’ heads. I’m serious! I could live without the temperature going above zero, and [...]
