Crazy Friday
This morning, we had some rather weird weather here in Lethbridge. Jose went out to put stuff in the car before we left, and he came back in saying that there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, but it was raining. When it was my turn to go out, I looked towards Jose’s car (west) to wave goodbye to him, and saw a stunning sight: the western horizon had a bank of clouds that was a mix of purples and greys with a gold hue over it all. Coming straight up out of it was a very bright rainbow! The wind was blowing quite strongly, and with it came a spray of raindrops into my face. Straight above my head the sky was clear, and to the east the sun was coming up big and golden. As I drove to the day home, I had to use my windshield wipers for the rain. By the time I got to Bobbie’s house, the clouds had moved in a little further, and by the time I got to school, they were mostly overhead.
Crazy thing happened to me today: I had three close calls for potential eye injuries today within about a half hour span. First, I was chopping up jalapenos when all of a sudden, jalapeno juice squirted straight into my left eye. Wow, did that burn!! Luckily, the pain dissipated quickly. A few minutes later, the pan frying up the ham shot boiling grease directly at my right eye. Thank goodness my eyelids work properly, and the grease hit my upper eyelid. It still stings. Finally, while we were eating supper, James was not interested in eating, and was sort of fooling around. He was swinging his fork around, and hit me under the left eye with the side of it. So not cool!
